Dr. Naomi Boness is the Managing Director of the Natural Gas Initiative (NGI) at Stanford University, an affiliates program that conducts research on natural gas to maximize the environmental, social and economic benefits.
Dr. Boness is an invited member of the United Nations Expert Group on Resource Classification, a member of the Renewable Natural Gas Coalition Advisory Committee, and a past Chair of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists Oil and Gas Reserves Committee. Dr. Boness holds a Ph.D. from Stanford University in Geophysics, a M.Sc. from Indiana University and a B.Sc. from the University of Leeds.
Analyst Climate & Clean Air and Midwest at National Resources Defense Council
Rachel Fakhry is an analyst for the Climate & Clean Air and Midwest programs at the National Resources Defense Council and is involved with multiple NRDC modeling efforts. She also focuses on policy efforts that enable the increased deployment of clean energy in NRDC's midwestern focal states.
Prior to her current role, Fakhry was a Schneider Fellow in NRDC's Washington, D.C., office, where she focused on state Clean Power Plan compliance, supporting strong federal energy efficiency policies, and defending the U.S. Department of Energy's clean energy budget.
She holds a bachelor's degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the American University of Beirut and a Master's in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University.
