Switch Energy Alliance (SEA) is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to inspiring an energy-educated future that is objective, nonpartisan, and sensible.
Energy fuels the engine of the modern world and has the power to bring billions more out of abject poverty. Because energy reaches into every facet of our lives, it is highly political. Biases and emotions run deep, and facts and data are often distorted, or worse.
SEA's global video- and web-based approach engages students and general viewers in a positive conversation to work collaboratively on energy challenges. SEA reaches millions of people of all ages where they live and learn: online, in classrooms, in professional training, and in museums.
Switch Energy Alliance has established four pillars of energy education that guide the development of nonpartisan video- and web-based energy education programs.
Switch Classroom is a free, video-based online learning platform that provides innovative and entertaining lessons and activities about energy and energy resources to educators and students. Launched in the Fall of 2020, the Switch Classroom curriculum was developed by the SEA Teacher Advisory Council (TAC). Our first course is centered around College Board® AP Environmental Science guidelines, but also aligns with NGSS and is appropriate for classes in many different subjects and grade levels.
The Switch International Energy Case Competition (IECC) is a global competition in which university students compete virtually to address real-world energy challenges and develop potential solutions. There is no entry fee and student teams compete for cash prizes. Students do not need to have technical experience or knowledge and is appropriate for students pursuing any academic discipline. In fact, the Case Competition places a premium on innovative, multidisciplinary solutions.
SEA is developing a captivating, dynamic, video-based online platform to educate industry and government professionals on vital energy topics. Different from existing continuing education approaches, we will help companies and organizations establish a minimum energy IQ for all staff, covering topics from energy fundamentals, to energy transition, to ESG, and beyond.
SEA's global video- and web-based approach engages general viewers in a positive conversation to work collaboratively on energy challenges. SEA reaches millions of people of all ages where they live and learn: in museums as well as on our website, YouTube, and social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram).
By joining SEA you will gain access to the most complete energy video library in the world giving you the ability to broaden and track your energy knowledge. Begin engaging with a global community of alliance members and become part of an energy-educated future.
