The Switch Energy Alliance creates free, nonpartisan, film-based resources to help students, educators, professionals and general users around the world learn about energy.

SEA is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, formed after our acclaimed nonpartisan energy documentary Switch reached more than 15 million viewers worldwide, most of them students.

The mission of SEA is to inspire the public to learn about energy, engage in informed conversations, and make smart decisions about our global energy future.

We present our content through three interlinked programs:

Watch

Film & Video Library

Our video library allows users to explore and share video content about most energy-related topics. It includes the complete feature film Switch, the Switch Energy Lab series, Switch Energy Primers and much more, all free for viewing.

The library will soon include content from our new feature film, Switch On, which looks at the benefits and challenges of powering 3 billion people in the developing world living with little or no energy.

Learn

Structured Video-Based Education

Coming soon: We’ll organize the video library to provide a structured journey through the world of energy, which academic, professional and government users can tailor to their learning and experience levels. This will eventually include an accredited video-based course for university and upper level high school students.

Engage

Outreach & Viewer Participation

Coming soon: We're expanding our outreach programs to better connect with viewers, assist educators in getting more from our materials, and encourage students and general users to participate in productive energy discussions. We’ll do this through targeted social media marketing, an improved and expanded newsletter campaign, university partnerships and educator-led student work groups.
