Dr. Scott Tinker Discusses Energy Transition on the Decouple Podcast

Dr. Chris Keefer invited Dr. Scott Tinker to discuss the future of the energy transition on the Decouple Podcast.

Dr. Keefer and Dr. Tinker talked about how wealthy countries in the West are engaged in an energy transition ostensibly away from fossil fuels towards renewable energy while the developing world is emerging from energy poverty largely through the use of fossil fuels.

“No transition can happen without lifting the world out of that kind of poverty,” said Dr. Tinker.

The Decouple Podcast explores technologies that decouple human well being from their ecological impacts and the politics that enable these technologies. 

Dr. Keefer is an emergency physician, lecturer at the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto, and Founder and Director of Doctors For Nuclear Energy.
