In his presentation, Dr. Tinker emphasized that a globally sustainable energy future must ensure equitable energy access, address the full range of economic realities, and minimize the environmental impacts of all forms of energy on the climate, air, land, and water. It will be achieved by critical thinking that seeks to be both completely factual, and factually complete.
For example, renewable energy still has many environmental impacts. Dr. Tinker said, “Mining, manufacturing, and disposing is not renewable or clean.”
The IPAA is a lobbying group for oil and gas producers in the United States. America’s independent producers develop 91 percent of the nation’s oil and natural gas wells. These companies account for 83 percent of America’s oil production, 90 percent of its natural gas and natural gas liquids (NGL) production, and support over 4.5 million American jobs.
