Introducing the new SEA Faculty Advisory Council

SEA and its annual higher education competition, the Switch International Energy Case Competition (SIECC), have taken a significant step this spring by assembling a Faculty Advisory Council (FAC). Comprising 19 academic professionals from 5 countries, the FAC brings together a diverse group of experts with a wide range of research specialties. Their collective knowledge and experience will play a crucial role in developing and expanding SIECC.

The Faculty Advisory Council is a dynamic team of academic professionals who represent various disciplines related to energy science, engineering, geophysics, business, earth science, public health, electrical engineering, and more. With their diverse backgrounds, the FAC members bring a wealth of expertise and knowledge to the table.

The FAC actively contributes to several important aspects of the SIECC program. Their primary responsibilities include:

• Fostering University Outreach: The FAC assists SEA in reaching out to universities worldwide, both domestically and internationally. Their goal is to promote SIECC and encourage faculty members to integrate it into their course curricula.

• Recruiting Teams, Mentors, and Judges: Drawing upon their academic networks, the FAC helps in recruiting teams, mentors, and judges for the case competition. Their extensive connections in the academic community will support a robust and diverse participation in SIECC.

• Advising on SIECC Development: The FAC serves as a valuable resource for SEA's core staff, providing guidance and insights on the development, planning, and design of the annual case study prompt. Their input helps shape the competition to ensure it remains relevant, challenging, and engaging for participants.

From their research accomplishments to their teaching expertise, these council members exemplify the commitment to energy education and the pursuit of innovative solutions to global energy challenges. Learn more about the esteemed members of the Faculty Advisory Council here.
