SEA Collaborates with NEED Conference

On July 27, SEA collaborated with the National Energy Education Development Project (NEED) for their annual National Energy Conference for Educators. The event showcased the Switch Classroom program and featured an engaging keynote by SEA Chairman Dr. Scott Tinker, emphasizing the vital dual challenge of meeting global energy demands while mitigating environmental impact.

Bringing together educators and curriculum and instruction professionals, the conference fostered a dynamic learning environment perfect to promote Switch Classroom and its free benefits to teachers and students alike. SEA team members introduced Classroom to conference attendees and shared how the platform can improve student energy literacy and streamline lesson planning.

Dr. Scott Tinker's keynote centered on the dual challenge. The core message of the dual challenge lies in striking a balance between ensuring universal access to energy that is affordable and reliable, while at the same time making significant strides in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and addressing climate change. This concept resonates deeply with educators as they seek to instill in their students a sense of responsibility towards the environment and the crucial role energy plays in shaping our world.  Dr. Tinker’s expertise and anecdotal, data-driven examples made the presentation captivating and inspiring.

Dr. Tinker's keynote, whose key themes form the foundation of the Switch Classroom program, empowered educators to return to their classrooms armed with fresh perspectives and free, comprehensive resources from Switch Classroom to fuel their students' curiosity and passion for energy.
