Switch Energy Alliance recently concluded its fourth annual Teacher Advisory Council (TAC) Summer Institute at the University of Texas’ J.J. Pickle Research Center in Austin.
Teachers who make up the TAC flew in from around the country to help develop SEA’s free online video based learning platform, Switch Classroom. This year, they created Classroom activities based on SEA’s upcoming new TV show, Energy Switch.
Over the course of two days, the teachers worked in groups to create the new activities and engaged in discussions about energy. They enjoyed a presentation about what a sustainable transition will look like by SEA Senior Fellow, Dr. Helge Haldorsen, and met with SEA chairman, Dr. Scott Tinker. The teachers also toured the core research center and the Stoneburner Family Rock Garden at the University of Texas Bureau of Economic Geology.
SEA greatly appreciates all of the members of the Teacher Advisory Council. The work they do ensures that Switch Classroom is unbiased, factually accurate, and user friendly, and helps SEA to inspire an energy-educated future.
