Last month, we wrapped up our highly anticipated Summer Institute in beautiful Vancouver with our Teacher Advisory Council (TAC). This week-long trip was a perfect blend of topical energy updates, engaging field trips, dynamic discussions, and team-building activities that united our TAC and enriched our Switch Classroom offerings.
The Summer Institute is more than just an educational retreat; it’s an immersive experience that equips our TAC with the latest information and hands-on experiences to enhance the curriculum of Switch Classroom. This year, participants had the opportunity to explore regional geology, tour a local mine, and visit the Vancouver Public Library. We also met with Vida Carbon, a carbon credit investment group, and toured a zero-waste facility, gaining insights into innovative sustainability practices.
One of the highlights was the series of discussions with industry leaders, which provided a comprehensive understanding of current and future energy challenges and solutions. These interactions not only broadened our knowledge but also sparked ideas for future lessons and activities for Switch Classroom.
Beyond the educational experiences, the trip offered ample opportunities for our team to connect and enjoy time together, strengthening our collaborative spirit. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and we're already looking forward to next year's institute. A big thank you to everyone who participated and made this event a resounding success!
