Switch Classroom, SEA's K-12 online learning platform, has been making significant strides in empowering energy literacy among teachers and students. Since its major platform update in January, Switch Classroom has continued to impress with its engaging, comprehensive, nonpartisan, and free video lessons and activities. Recently, Teacher Advisory Council (TAC) members had the opportunity to present a Lightning Talk about Switch Classroom at the College Board Advanced Placement (AP) Readers Conference, further highlighting the platform's benefits and alignment with national standards. Additionally, Switch Classroom has expanded its presence on social media, providing valuable content and program updates to its growing community of educators.
On June 7, TAC members Trisa Swenson, Kathy Daniels, and Ruthann McComb had the opportunity to deliver a Lightning Talk at the AP Readers Conference in Cincinnati. The audience consisted of AP Environmental Science Readers who evaluate free response answers for the national test that grants high schoolers college credit in environmental science. Trisa, Kathy, and Ruthann seized the opportunity to showcase Switch Classroom's features, benefits, and forthcoming updates. Their expertise in the AP Environmental Science curriculum and standards played a vital role in the development and alignment of Switch Classroom content.
One of the key strengths of Switch Classroom is its alignment with College Board standards for AP Environmental Science. By aligning with these standards, the platform provides educators and students with a valuable resource that complements classroom instruction and supports student success in the course and AP exam. The TAC, including Trisa, Kathy, and Ruthann, contributes their expertise to ensure that the content on Switch Classroom meets the expectations of national standards, teachers, and students.
Additionally, Switch Classroom has recognized the importance of connecting with educators, administrators, and community leaders through social media. Switch Classroom has recently established a presence on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, providing teachers with access to great content, user tips and tricks, and timely program updates. By engaging with educators and decision makers on social media, Switch Classroom fosters a community of sharing and collaboration, enhancing the overall learning experience for teachers and students alike.
Teachers and students interested in accessing the valuable resources provided by Switch Classroom can register for free on our website.
