The Venezuelan American Petroleum Association (VAPA) invited Dr. Scott Tinker to present on sustainable energy on January 8th, 2021.
Dr. Tinker talked about how the current narrative, at least in the US and Western Europe, says that solar and wind are renewable, clean, and good, and fossil fuels are non-renewable, dirty, and bad. In reality, every energy source has pros and cons, and sustainability will require an energy mix.
“No form of energy collection is renewable,” said Dr. Tinker. “All energy has environmental impacts.”
VAPA is a nonprofit professional organization in the hydrocarbon industry and other related energies. The organization was founded in Texas in July 2019 and aims to establish relationships with organizations and institutions that can provide technical support, education and training to help the sustainable development of the Venezuelan energy industry.
