Looking Back at 2023

As we approach the end of 2023, let's celebrate the incredible achievements and milestones that defined this year for SEA.

Switch Classroom: Welcoming over 37,000 teachers and students, Switch Classroom had a transformative year. Beyond registrations, Switch Classroom underwent a sleek platform redesign, an inclusion in the Clever App Library, and attended six teacher conferences.

Energy Switch: Filming Seasons 3 and 4, airing Seasons 2 and 3, and adapting for public radio marked Energy Switch's dynamic year. Currently airing on PBS and NPR affiliates, season 4 will begin airing in Spring 2024.

Switch International Energy Case Competition: With over 800 student and volunteer participants, a new case prompt, a redesigned Social Media, and sponsorship from Sunnova, Tailwater Capital, Howard Energy Partners, Sempra, and Woodside Energy, the competition saw new perspectives, critical thinking, and innovative solutions. The program also convened its first Faculty Advisory Council to consult and promote the competition.

Switch On and Switch On: The Series: Switch On and Switch On: The Series were watched over 84,000 times this year. The film was featured at seven corporate and university screenings in Austin, Calgary, and Nigeria. Adapted for public television, Switch On: The Series is currently being pitched to PBS for a 2024 air date.

Energy Makes Our World: Viewed by 440,000 people and featured in new museums in Kansas, Connecticut, and Texas, our museum film continues to educate and inspire viewers of all ages. The film is also now available in giant screen, IMAX, and dome formats.

Digital Media: SEA video content has been viewed 19 million times this year across web, social media, and museum platforms. In addition, a new short-form video campaign was launched, and three new social media accounts were created for Switch Classroom this year.

As we say goodbye to 2023, we express our gratitude to the entire Switch community for your unwavering support. Here's to another year of impact, collaboration, and inspiring an energy-educated future!
